MEMORY CARE SUPPORT

Music therapy sessions tailored to support folks living with dementia and/or other forms of neurodegeneration. I have a deep appreciation for the ways in which music stays with us through significant change. Utilizing client-preferred music, we can create meaningful moments with community members and loved ones. I have years of experience working with folks in long-term nursing facilities, in home, and at end-of-life.

ANALYTIC MUSIC THERAPY (AMT)

In-depth music therapy work rooted in a psychodynamic model. AMT may involve more intensive verbal processing than other approaches of music therapy work. AMT sessions often seek to uncover truths of the subconscious and bring about significant personal insight. I am currently an AMT Trainee (Level 3: Individual Supervision).

THERAPEUTIC MUSIC LESSONS

Where the work is in the process, not the product. Together we will explore your musicianship and creative self. While I specialize in voice, piano and guitar lessons are also available. Unlike many music lessons deriving from the Western-classical tradition, the focus is not on performance or developing technical skill. Goals may include increasing creative flexibility or building self-esteem. All lessons are collaborative and tailored to your experience.
